Social Media Framework

Make social media your friend through a simple strategic framework.

You don’t need me to tell you that Social Media has exploded on the scene and is a great way to connect and communicate with existing and potential customers. However, it can also be a lot of work and larger companies employ people and teams to just deal with social media marketing. But what if you not big business, and what if all you want is to begin to experiment and use social media platforms without having your life consumed by them?

The Social Media Framework provides a simple and easy to follow conceptual diagram to help you strategically approach social media platforms. Over time, some may work better then others for your business and you can invest more time and money into them. The rest may just serve as small contributors.

Main Points

The framework outlined here is a ‘minimal effort’ approach to Social Media. If you have the time, you can do so much more then what I am sharing here. However, no matter what level of commitment you want to give social media, there are benefits you can gain.

Facebook Page: A Facebook page is highly desirable for just about any type of business. If for no other reason, creating a Facebook page with links back to your website will provide a slight increase in page authority for your website. Page Authority correlates to higher search engine rankings (SERPS).

When ever you add new content to your website, post it to your Facebook Page using the URL link of the page you created/updated.

Make sure you invite all your friends to ‘Like’ your page to give it an initial boost.

YouTube: At the very least, have one or two videos uploaded to a custom YouTube channel and embed them on your website (And yes, if your wondering, I will be doing that here soon:-) ).

NOTE: In 2019 Google closed their 'failed' social media experiment. Google+: When you create a YouTube Channel, you will automatically create a Google+ page for your business. Use this in a similar way to your Facebook Page.

Pinterest: Pinterest may not excite everyone, but having a Pinterest account cannot hurt your business and may very well one day drive huge numbers of traffic through ‘Pinterest image searches‘ . Each image pinned from your website onto Pinterest becomes a link to the source page. This means, yet another way for people to find your website (and Google).

I will explain the other aspects of the Framework soon, however you can see this approach is about leveraging social media benefits without getting in too deep to begin with.

You are more then welcome to use it as a guide for using social media.

Otherwise we can implement the framework for you.
